초록	본 연구는 지역축제에 참여한 경험이 있는 주민들을 대상으로 사회적 자본이 주민의 만족도와 공동체의식에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 실증자료를 통해 분석하고자 하였다. 연구방법은 변인 간의 미치는 영향관계와 인과관계의 적합성 여부를 검증하기 위해 AMOS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 경로분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 사회적 자본은 신뢰와 참여, 네트워크, 규범의 네 요인으로 구성되며 그 중 신뢰와 참여 요인이 주민의 만족도에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그리고 축제에 참여한 주민 만족도는 공동체의식에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 주민만족도와 공동체의식 향상을 위해서는 다양한 지역사회 참여와 신뢰 형성의 기회를 제공하는 등 사회적 자본의 형성이 중요함을 강조하였다. 즉 사회적 자본이 지역사회 발전과 통합에 영향을 준다는 점에 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다.
